Basic information

Rain is a privately owned and operated netlabel. We release ambient, soundscape, drone music and make our releases available for free and legal download. We also allow them to be shared and played in any non-commercial way. The only thing we require is a proper credit to be given - to the artist and to Rain.
Please note: according to our CC license it is improper to distribute our music in any other way than the original release. This includes changing the file formats, encodings, bitrates, cover art and any information like names, durations and dates.

For specific details surrounding our license and what you may (and may not) do freely under it, please visit the Creative Commons site.

We are strongly dedicated to the preservation of any private information we may and do obtain. And so all we get to know about the artists who release music in Rain is being kept confidential. We do provide the means to contact any artist if she or he does not have a website and if we are explicitly asked for this. It depends on a specific situation and any artist may ask us not to do it.

Submissions and releases policy

Rain is not currently accepting submissions.

If any of the current Rain albums shows up under a different label we will attempt to solve the problem with the artist or - if this does not help - remove the Rain release and not make any future ones of this particular artist.
By 'release other than in Rain' we understand ANY release with different cover art, names, dates, file formats, encodings, bitrates. And yes, releasing music in Rain AND in bandcamp/soundcloud is a violation of our rules.

Rain is not responsible for any copyright issues connected with any of the releases. It is the artist's duty to make sure the music we release does not break the law. If such a situation occurs we will try to be on the artist's side and attempt to help solving the problem as peacefully as possible.
